Day 5 Posadas / Esteros del Ibera (Ibera Marshlands).
After 03 hr travel from the ranch, we would arrive to the Iberá Marshlands: in Corrientes province founds this humid area that is made up of a great number of hectares of small lakes, swamps and bogs. All of these make a singular ecosystem that allows the survival of turtles, monkeys, alligators, deers of the marshes and capybaras – the biggest rodent of the world – and even 400 species of different birds, apart from an extraordinary flora. Full board and accommodation. Esteros del Iberá is the place for adventurers and nature lovers! We would take several boat Safaris: On the lake Iberá you can take morning, sunset and night safaris. Swamp deer, capybaras, caimans, giant otters and birds can be observed all year round. While the boat glides silently between the floating vegetation, the proximity of wild habitants is just the beginning of the adventure.
We head off from the footbridge of the Lodges by boat and accompanied by a local wildlife expert who shows us the changing landscapes that surprise us with swimming capybaras, grazing swamp deer in this wide range of different green. While observing the majestic caimans we can hear their rhythmic breathing. A few steps on the floating green mattress bring us close to a colourful bird picking insects from the back of a chewing capybara. When the sun is about to dive into the endless horizon, water and sky are gleaming in intensive red and gold. This perfect demonstration of Mother Nature overwhelms our senses and finds an eternal place in our memory.
